Input momentum->Brake: 0% means that when you press the brake key your car will get full braking instantly, like pushing the brake pedal all the hard you can. Your car will make little burnouts when accelerating from stop but they are easily controllable and, once you get speed, it is 100% safe. So what's the best? Not a big difference but I got a better acceleration and feeling of the car setting this value to 0%. In the other hand that aid works so good that it lets we set any value for the throttle input momentum, even 0%. We would need a value around 150% for that but 100% is the limit so... we need to keep the traction control aid on. It is playable but you will still lose traction often and have a high risk of spinning out. If we disable the traction control aid then we need all the throttle smoothing we can get here, but in my experience even setting this to 100% is not enough. Imagine doing that with a car that has more than 800HP!!! The more you increase this value the smoother the response is until a maximum of 100%, so that is what we want isn't? Hmm... yes and no. Input momentum->Throttle: 0% means that when you press the throttle key your car will get full throttle instantly, like rapidly pushing the gas pedal to the floor. We are going to adjust some settings now and then go to the track to adjust the steering. Their function may not be so obvious so I'm going to tell you how this works and the settings I use, as a result of the tests I did playing with different values.
The other critical settings for keyboard users are the "Advanced Controller Options" you can access them by clicking on "Advanced". Ok, you have all the driving aids enabled, now you can move your car through the track but that is not enough to race it and enjoy the driving, so keep reading.
When you are more experienced you may want to disable the racing line or you may prefer manual shifting, but always have the rest of the options enabled, otherwise you will have serious problems trying to keep your car on the track. They are quite self-explanatory remember to right click on them for more information though. Some of the most important settings for keyboard users are here. Check "Sequential" gearbox and assign keys for shifting up and down even if you want to use automatic shifting, this will allow you to engage the reverse gear if you need it. Now go to "Options"->"Controls" and assign the keys you want to the controls.
*To enable the menu help go to "Options"->"Other" and check "Automatic Menu Help". So use it additionally to what I'm going to explain here, it is very useful.
This game has a nice menu help system that will help you to understand most of their functions just by right clicking on any menu item. I have played simulation racing games for years with my keyboard only, and I can tell you that it is possible to enjoy most of them, with the right settings.
